Francois, an avid angler in France, went fly fishing in Cherokee with a guide from Curtis Wright Outfitters. He was delighted with the beautiful scenery, and acquired a few new fly fishing skills he intends to show off to his fishing buddies in France. However, the highlight of the trip for Francois was meeting "Big Bill", the shirtless, deep voiced Indian that sold him his fishing license!
As the ladies chose not to accompany Francois fishing, we took them to Asheville for a day of shopping. I needed to make a stop at the Asheville Farmer's Market for our favorite FROG Jam, Sourwood Honey and another ½ bushel of local peaches, so Christine and Amelie came with me. They loved all of the local produce...tres jolie!...but were cautious about purchases that would not travel well. They bought a small Amish doll for Christine's mama. I didn't think they would be too impressed with Sam's Club, so I dropped them off downtown Asheville to spend some mother/daughter time.
As with all of our international guests thus far, we were very impressed with how well they communicated in English. Although somewhat less than confident in their abilities, we understood them perfectly and hope we were able to make them feel comfortable. Both Shell and I commented this morning that we are missing that beautiful accent!
