The judges are sequestered for blind judging of delicious offerings from our best local cooks and bakers. This year's participants include Frog's Leap Public House, City Bakery, Sunburst Market on Montgomery, Sweet Onion, and many more.  A new addition for 2013 is participation by our 3 local breweries, Tipping Point, Bearwaters Brewing and Frog Level Brewing.

Undeniably, food is subjective! We see it every day here at our B&B breakfast table. Some prefer savory dishes; some prefer sweet. Some are open to anything I place in front of them. Others react with a look of sheer panic at the thought of runny eggs!

I have been privileged to have eaten at some fabulous eateries and have eaten everything from shortbreads to calf tongue. In my humble opinion, the takeaway is; if food is prepared with the freshest possible ingredients and made with lots of L-O-V-E, your family and guests will most certainly enjoy it.

It is evident that all of the offerings at Mélange of the Mountains are indeed prepared with love. I am aware of what it takes to produce these dishes from conception, to trial, to final creation, and a great deal of effort and time is required. So...to all of the participants, good luck, and we appreciate the love!
